Prawn Curry Recipes
Prawns are undoubtedly one of the most delectable foods in the world. Little surprise then that prawn curry recipes are amongst the most searched for on the internet. Thankfully, there are many prawn curry recipes to satisfy even the most ardent food lovers- from Malabar recipes to Thai recipes, Kerala recipes to Burmese recipes and everything in between. There are simple recipes and complex recipes, depending on what kind of dish you want to turn out. However, unlike recipes like Korma curry recipes, which are inherently somewhat difficult to prepare, most prawn curry recipes are simple enough for even a novice to cook to perfection. You don’t have to be an expert cook to wow your friends and family with a delicious and aromatic prawn curry. If you are just about starting to try out your hand at cooking, it is highly recommended that you try out the simpler recipes at first before taking on the more delicate and complex ones. You don’t want to be disheartened at the very beginning of your foray into cooking. On the other hand, if you are an experienced cook already, then any of the many prawn curry recipes would be a walk in the park for you. Here is one of the more simple prawn curry recipes. Simple does not mean that it is any less tasty than the more complex recipes. Try it out and see for yourself.
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
3 cloves of garlic (finely chopped or crushed)
2 teaspoon grated ginger
2 onions, medium sized, peeled and finely chopped
1 tablespoon curry powder
1 red pepper, thinly sliced
3 tomatoes, medium sized, chopped
350 ml stock (chicken or fish)
50 creamed coconut
200 g prawns, peeled and cooked
Salt and pepper to taste
Coriander to garnish
Preparation:
Coat frying pan with oil. Fry garlic, ginger and one onion till onion browns.
Add half red pepper finely chopped and tomatoes, until tomatoes dissolve.
Add stock and creamed coconut and bring to a boil. Let simmer.
Fry the second onion, chopped in large pieces and half pepper briefly and add to the main curry. Bring to a boil and turn of the heat.
Add prawns and garnish with coriander.
